<p> (paragraph) marks paragraphs in prose.

Attributes
xml:id opt
(identifier) provides a unique identifier for the element bearing the attribute.
type opt
Possible values
strip
marks that the paragarph is written on a strip of paper.
xml:id opt

n opt
(number) gives a number (or other label) for an element, which is not necessarily unique within the document.
Possible values

marks the (logical) first paragraph of some division of text.
extent
marks the paragraph describing the extent of a manuscript.
rend opt
(rendition) indicates how the element in question was rendered or presented in the source text.
Possible values
inline
marks an inline paragraph
center
marks that the paragarph is placed in the center
right
marks that the paragraph is placed on the right
noIndent
marks that the paragraph starts without an indent
