<g> (character or glyph) represents a glyph, or a non-standard character.

Attributes
xml:id opt
(identifier) provides a unique identifier for the element bearing the attribute.
type req
characterizes the element in some sense, using any convenient classification scheme or typology.
Possible values
smufl
(Standard Music Font Layout) Identifies this character or glyph as a musical symbol defined by the SMuFL specification
mufi
(Medieval Unicode Font Initiative) Identifies this character or glyph as a symbol defined by the Medieval Unicode Font Initiative
ref
points to a description of the character or glyph intended.
