Commentary

  • "… earlier than 16 February 1975"The fact that Barnet thanks Henze for the recordings he sent him suggests that this postcard might have directly followed the postcard in which Barnet requested recordings of La Cubana. In light of this observation, this postcard may have been written after the postcard dated no earlier than 8 February 1975.
  • "… with Martin we arranged everything."‘Martin’’s identity has yet to be ascertain. It is not known what he, Rodríguez and Barnet were organising.
  • "… you. Thanks for the records."There might have been a recording of La Cubana among these, which Barnet had requested in another postcard.
  • "… the records. I gave Fauïs"‘Fauïs’’s identity has yet to be ascertain.
  • "… and Leo the music ."It is not known which recording Barnet is referring to here.
  • [Figure Description]Photo of Playa Jibacoa.
