HenDi-WebApp Version 5.0.0

In version 5.0.0 of Henze-Digital we publish the correspondence between Hans Werner Henze and Miguel Barnet.

We have further expanded the translation-feature for the publication of this correspondence. The basic languages of this correspondence are Spanish and English. As Spanish cannot be assumed to be a standard language in German-speaking countries, the edited Spanish text was accompanied by an English translation. In order to avoid using a third language, the Critical Commentary was also written in English. As already noted in the release notes the Henze | Auden | Kallman correspondence, there is a discrepancy in the German web interface between the generated content, which always appears in the language of the user interface, and the content written in English.

In the HenDi-WebApp, we have tracked down the “permanent problem with the whitespaces” and were able to significantly improve the display in this respect. The data records can now also be set in relation to each other, e.g. articles to books, affiliations (persons to organisations), organisations and sub-organisations and much more.

The new features in the HenDi WebApp include:

  • Linking the catalogue records to each other
  • Extension of the annotation display for cancellations and stamps
  • The rendering of telegrams has been expanded, but is still under development
  • Improvement of the rendering of added and rotated text sections
  • Display errors (especially handling of whitespaces) have been fixed
  • Font problem with icons in Firefox browsers has been fixed

  • The context menu of the letters is not designed to handle collectives. The current extension is still in an early stage, so inaccuracies may occur.
  • Musical examples are currently not displayed.
